Printed chart

The CircleSFR hybrid sharpness target.

Original 4:3 artwork, printed to order on archival matte inkjet from the vector master. Every chart ships serialized with a QC certificate: measured white and black reflectance, print date, and artwork version.

  • 83 circle SFR rings. Sagittal and tangential MTF across the full field from one capture
  • 8 slanted-edge patches. High-contrast and low-contrast sets on the same chart — no separate contrast SKUs
  • 6 Siemens-style stars. Corner and mid-edge focus confirmation
  • 4 slanted-star fields. Off-axis sharpness checks
  • 2 converging wedge groups. Aliasing and vanishing-resolution checks
  • Grayscale and color rows. 12-step linearization plus 8-patch white-balance sanity
CircleSFR hybrid sharpness target: 4:3 chart with 83 circle SFR rings, slanted edges, Siemens stars, grayscale and color rows
Native aspect ratio 4:3 · serialized · QC certificate included

Three sizes, one substrate, both contrasts.

SKUs are named by printed width. Megapixel suitability is the single-capture full-field rating on matte inkjet, from the sizing rule MP ≈ (width in inches ÷ 8.8)². Higher-resolution sensors can test a partial field or step the chart across the frame.

Size the chart to the sensor, not the room.

What matters is the field of view the chart fills, not the distance to the camera. Pick the smallest chart whose width covers your sensor's requirement, then set the distance so the chart fills the frame.

Distance to fill the frame width ≈ chart width ÷ (2 × tan(HFOV/2)). The software reports per-channel clipping fractions, so you can verify exposure on the first capture.

Which size fits your camera?

Enter sensor resolution and lens field of view. The rating uses the inkjet sizing rule: required chart width ≥ 8.8 in × √(megapixels).

Serialized prints

Each chart carries a margin serial number tied to its QC certificate and artwork version.

Dual contrast built in

High- and low-contrast slanted edges ship on every chart, so one print covers both regimes.

Analyze with CircleSFR

The software registers all 83 rings automatically and maps sagittal and tangential MTF across the field.
